Team RG donned aprons and oven gloves and came together on Friday 30th September to raise a whopping £1000 for Macmillan to help people living with cancer.
The day was a roaring success, with plenty of visitors lapping up the likes of carrot cake cupcakes, chocolate shortbread, chocolate fudge cake, chocolate brownies, palmiers, Victoria sponge and cheese twists, to name just a few of the many delights our star bakers conjured up.
Everyone’s generosity, both on the day with cash donations and via our online donations page, was hugely appreciated.
Macmillan – Donations Vital
Macmillan is almost entirely funded by donations. The charity would not be able to support the growing number of people with cancer without the public’s help.
To put the donations into perspective… £48 can help over 300 people get access to emotional and practical support via Macmillan’s online forum. And £100 covers the cost of someone affected by cancer attending a well-being event to equip them with the skills they need to get through their journey.
Anyone can support people with cancer in their own community to live life as fully as they can by hosting or attending a Macmillan Coffee Morning. To learn more visit www.macmillan.org.uk/coffee.
