Team RG: Getting Seriously Muddy in Support of the Lift Industry Charity

The UK Lift Industry Charity came about after a group of like-minded people felt there should be something in place to provide help to industry colleagues when faced with challenging times. Over the past ten years then it has made a raft of donations to individuals and families of individuals who have been injured or who have lost their lives during the course of their work within the lift industry. In support of the charity, Robert Gerrard has put together a mud-loving team of raring-to-go runners who are all prepped and ready to take on the major challenge of the ‘Meangate’ Mud Run on Saturday 11 March 2017.

Farewell Keith Bacon, Retired but Never Forgotten!

The past few months at Robert Gerrard have certainly been cause for celebration. Our shortlisting in the Broker Networker independent broker of the year award; the firm’s 40-years-in-business anniversary, mine and Scott’s 30 years’ here and, most recently on 12th January 2017, Keith Bacon’s three decades in service at Robert Gerrard. And it is my oracle of information himself, Keith Bacon, aka Smokey and various other nicknames to which stories are attached and will be mentioned later on, who forms the subject of this blog, because on Friday 27th January 2017, the great man took his retirement.

The Insurance Act is Now in Force: Here’s What it Means for Your Business and Personal Insurance

It was back in March 2015 we reported that Parliament had passed the Insurance Act 2015, bringing in reforms that would spell the most significant changes to be introduced to UK insurance contract law since 1906. At the time we were preparing for an 18-month preparation period. This is now over, and the Insurance Act is, as of 12 August 2016, in force.
