The Insurance Act is Now in Force: Here’s What it Means for Your Business and Personal Insurance
It was back in March 2015 we reported that Parliament had passed the Insurance Act 2015, bringing in reforms that would spell the most significant changes to be introduced to UK insurance contract law since 1906. At the time we were preparing for an 18-month preparation period. This is now over, and the Insurance Act is, as of 12 August 2016, in force.
Meeting a Mountainous Challenge
Last month I received a last minute notification of annual leave from Carla. This time though, it wasn’t for a break by the sea: on the contrary, it was something quite different. Carla had been called up last minute to fill a space on a team headed for a gruelling Highland challenge that would prove most memorable.
Liftex 2016 Review: Bonds Strengthened – and Biscuits Shared!
The team at Robert Gerrard always looks forward to Liftex International. With so many customers dotted about the country, it’s often a good chance to put faces to names, and that’s something that’s really important to us. This post really is to say a big thank you to everyone who stopped by to see us and share a cup of tea and a few biscuits!
The Importance of Responding to Insurance Renewal Notices
At Robert Gerrard we send out our insurance renewal notices in good time, and we take a proactive approach to following them up if we don’t receive a response: we would never want any of our customers to be without cover after all. A Cost-Effective Way to Protect Your Business Against Cyber Attacks
Cyber security breaches can have a serious knock-on effect. Viruses or hacking can bring customer transactions to a standstill; critical data can be lost, corrupted or damaged; intellectual property can be compromised. Revenue and profits are likely to suffer as a result. There could be follow-on liabilities such as notification costs, fines for data loss, legal expenses, awards and damages to pay out. Thankfully, purpose-designed insurance products are now becoming available in response to a very real need.
