Usually on a Friday during the summer when we’re asking each other what’s happening at the weekend, there’s talk of family BBQs, a trip to the coast or even some gardening. But last week was different, because when we asked our Tim Nurcombe what he had planned, ‘abseiling down Barking Town Hall’ wasn’t the answer we expected!
On Saturday 27th July, Tim donned his safety gear and climbed to the summit of Barking Town Hall, taking in the clear summer’s day view, before abseiling down one of its steep sides.
46 brave people in all took part in the challenge which involved descending three storeys to be greeted on the ground by amazed onlookers who’d assembled in Barking Town Square to witness the exciting spectacle.
£2,000 Raised for Barking Kidz Club

By the smile on his face, Tim clearly enjoyed the whole experience. We’re just wondering what he’ll do next weekend – sky diving perhaps? “Actually that could well be our next adventure,” he says. Watch this space!
