Laura works hard on developing the Lift Plan scheme and in forging robust and enduring insurer relationships, ensuring we continue to meet the evolving demands of the industry, and our clients’ changing needs.
Marcus Hill – Lift Plan Senior Account Executive
Marcus offers a unique blend of experience spanning both the insurance and lift industries. His invaluable mix of knowledge and skills based on 21 years in insurance and 15 years in lift sales and consultancy, combined with his LEIA qualifications, has made him a go-to member of the team for countless lift industry clients.
Claire Matthews – Lift Plan Senior Account Executive
Claire’s extensive 25 year+ insurance industry background and her diverse knowledge of both the personal and commercial aspects of insurance mean she’s able to take care of the entire range of cover requirements for a business, from vehicle fleet and premises through to personnel, directors and officers and liability and indemnity, as well as personal cover requirements.
Julie Robinson – Lift Plan Account Executive

Ellie Jackson – Lift Plan Account Executive

Ellie was recently awarded her CII Level 3 Certificate in Insurance by The Chartered Insurance Institute.
Luke Weight – Lift Plan Apprentice Account Executive
The newest member of Team Lift Plan, Luke is our latest apprentice and we’re all looking forward to supporting him as he gets to know the individual needs of our clients in this sector. As our lift industry client base is constantly growing, we’ll all appreciate the extra help Luke will bring to the team.
A splash of history – the origins of Lift Plan
Lift Plan was the brainchild of original Robert Gerrard founder Keith Townsend, father of current managing director Carla Preston, and Keith Bacon, who worked for Robert Gerrard for 30 years up till his retirement in 2017.
Keith T had a friend called Derek Lycett who owned a lift manufacturer Thames Valley. Derek would often relay tales of woe about how difficult his lift engineer customers found it to get liability insurance. So the two Keiths set about looking for a solution, and in 1976, Lift Plan was born.
Thames Valley, now known as International Lift Equipment, continues to operate just round the corner from our Chingford office, and we continue to stand by our founding value of doing whatever we can to resolve issues and find solutions for our clients.
It never fails to delight us that many of our clients have been with us for several decades, and that we have served their insurance needs over many generations.
