In this latest blog series, we are introducing each of our dedicated client teams and their members to help you get to know who’s behind your insurance cover, both professionally and personally.

This month we’re starting with our Enterprise Team.

What does our Enterprise Team do?

The Robert Gerrard Enterprise Team takes care of our clients’ personal insurance needs.

Because our clients are mostly business owners or leaders, or own multiple properties or significant assets, we have brought together a team of experienced brokers who can provide personalised advise on arranging insurance cover for more non-standard needs, unusual risks, and high value possessions.

Every member of the team is dedicated to finding the right cover and making everything as clear as possible. Long term relationships are valued too, so as a client, you’ll enjoy direct contact with someone who truly understands your needs.

Meet the Enterprise Team

Our Enterprise Team is made up of team leader Sue Pace, supported by Account Executives Nashima Adams and Tim Nurcombe.

Meet Sue Pace

Sue Pace Enterprise Team

Enterprise Team Leader Sue has been with Robert Gerrard since 2007. She has 35+ years’ experience in motor insurance and 20+ years in home and travel insurance.

When she first started out in the industry, Sue was mainly focused on motor insurance. Then, when she joined RG, she developed expertise in home insurance, later moving into the specialist area of mid to high net worth and non-standard risks. Sue found this area challenging, yet all the more rewarding as she was often able to source cover for clients who’d been unsuccessful in finding it elsewhere.

Sue is used to managing complex cover needs and approaches the task by establishing early on what will work best for each client on an individual basis, working closely with them to meet their needs. She says that the biggest rewards for her in her role are client satisfaction, and positive feedback.

Sue recounts one of her most memorable moments of her career at Robert Gerrard as her first interview with Carla Preston (RG’s MD) who had her little dog by her side for the duration of the interview.

“The insurance Industry is a very rewarding career. I enjoy assisting clients and meeting their needs. It’s about making a difference to people’s lives with peace of mind and security.”

Outside of work, Sue’s biggest passion is her family – her husband, three sons and granddaughter – and not forgetting her three cats, and Casper the dog who accompanies her on countless countryside walks.

A regular partaker in the Race for Life in aid of Cancer Research, Sue played the piano as a child and is known to have a sneaky tinkle of the ivories now and then – that’s when she’s not horse-riding or ice-skating.

Meet Tim Nurcombe

Tim Nurcombe Enterprise Team

Tim is one of RG’s longest serving team members, having joined the company in 1995.

With an insurance career spanning around 40 years, Tim recalls the days in business when there were no computers, and cover was placed based using just underwriting guides, a calculator and a quote pad.

Although he has broader experience in the areas of household and travel insurance, Tim’s main role is taking care of clients’ motor insurance needs. His extensive experience means he’s able to place cover for any type of vehicle, including the more challenging types such as classic and performance cars.

Tim likes to think that over his many decades in the insurance industry, he’s been able to adapt to the changes, and continue to provide clients with honest advice and assistance as they need it.

Tim appreciates how ‘Direct Line type insurers’ are attracting more of the personal insurance business away, but he honestly feels that there remains a valid demand – and need – for that personal broker service. Someone who’s prepared to spend time and go the extra mile to source you the right cover, at the right price – and be there for you throughout the policy term to address any queries and support if you need to make a claim.

“The most rewarding and memorable part of my job is when clients renew their policies through me and tell me that they are only renewing with us, because of me.”

Outside of work, Tim enjoys spending time with his new family, being out in the garden and following Leyton Orient.

The last time he was involved in charitable work was to help raise money to build a house for a family in Ethiopia. Having spent only two weeks over there, to help build the house, he says it made him feel very humble and grateful for how lucky he was in his life, compared to other people’s constant suffering.

Meet Nashima Adams

Nashima Adams Enterprise Team

Nashima joined Team RG in 2019 bringing with her more than three decades of insurance industry expertise, all inspired by a work experience posting during her college days.

Household, high net worth, travel and motor insurance are Nashima’s specialist areas of expertise. All of these combine with her deep knowledge of small business cover, culminating in a unique ability to take care of every aspect of a business owner’s insurance requirements.

Nashima is dedicated to forging meaningful client relationships, meeting face to face, conducting a personalised risk review and getting to know in detail what cover the client needs. She’ll then market the risk across various insurers to achieve the best level of cover to suit individual requirements.

Nashima does, however, see the insurance industry evolving before her eyes and believes it’s becoming increasingly challenging to place cover for niche risks and find budget-friendly policies due to insurers pulling out and being more selective about the cover they wish to provide. But that hasn’t stopped her doing everything she can to look after the needs of her clients, undertaking more reviews and working hard to negotiate new schemes with more insurers.

“Being able to get the best policy and premium for a client – and then seeing that client happy and satisfied with my service – are my biggest rewards.”

Outside of work, Nashima enjoys cooking, family holidays and visiting the gym.

She’s also involved in a charity called ‘Benefit Mankind’, a UK-based international aid relief and development organisation dedicated to bringing health, education, shelter and more to the world’s most disadvantaged places. Her family has already built a school, prayer area and water well to serve a local Sierra Leone community.

Along with her two brothers, Nashima made a life-changing trip to West Africa in 2023 to take part in the opening ceremonies and witness for themselves the difference the work – funded by her departed mother’s legacy – was making. Nashima intends to remain involved in the project in honour of her mother, who herself physically helped build a much-needed well within the community.
